On behalf of the International Scientific Committee, it is my pleasure to invite you to take part in the 21st International Conference on Flow Injection Analysis and Related Techniques (21st ICFIA) which will be held September 3-8, 2017 in Saint Petersburg. The conference is dedicated to the Honor of the 80th Birthday of Prof. G. Christian. The 21st ICFIA will be the first to be held in Russia.

The event will cover recent progress in different topics of analytical chemistry and will include keynote, regular oral and poster presentations, as well as, conference-school for young scientists and exhibitions.

The conference will be focused on flow-based methods and instrumentation (detection systems, sensors), green analytical chemistry, automation and miniaturization of analysis (microfluidic systems, paper-based analytical devices, bead injection, nanomaterials, microextraction, molecularly imprinted polymers, polymer monoliths, metal-organic frameworks), hyphenated methods (hyphenated flow systems with LC and CE), chemometrics and applications of flow-based methods.

We are confident that the 21st ICFIA will be a stimulating and exciting meeting in the tradition of past ICFIA conferences but will also offer an excellent opportunity for researchers to enjoy St. Petersburg. We hope the beauty of St. Petersburg will make the 21st ICFIA unforgettable.

Participants are invited to submit their manuscripts for possible publication in a Special Issue of Talanta devoted to the 21st ICFIA.

Details on deadlines for registration, abstract submission, as well as, information on satellite events, accommodation, planned social activities etc. will be provided on the conference web page: www.icfia2017.org.

Your participation in the 21st ICFIA is invaluable to the success of the event. We are very pleased to welcome you to St. Petersburg, and we look forward to the conference that promises to be a unique scientific and social event.
